hello!!!! CF-ers...this is the devotion jackie and i(joyce) did on thursday 180107...

Today, we are going to talk about feeling loved and accepted. One of the things that we must deal with as we grow up is the lies that come into our minds masquerading as the truth. Such examples are “I am not loved”, “I am not attractive” or “I am not accepted. Eventually, these lies grow in us as we move on into adulthood.
The opposite of being loved and accepted is being rejected-something which I’m sure that all of us have experienced at one time or another in our lives. When faced with rejection. Some people let these incidents roll off their backs because they know that there are always people somewhere who will accept them. Others, however, may bear deep emotional wounds from incident after incident of rejection. So they start to harbour a lack of acceptance that can sometimes transform their personalities into something ugly.
Acceptance brings out the best in each and every person. Rejection, on the other hand, brings out the worst. A person who already feels rejected may sometimes view everything as rejection- a mere look, a harmless glance or an insignificant action. That person may not actually be rejected but he or she may actually believe that he or she is.
The love of god however, can change all these. Knowing that god loves us and accepts us can change our lives for the better.

Isaiah 41:9 says “I have chosen you and not cast you away.” And Jeremiah 31:3 tells us “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” God proves his love for us by sacrificing his one and only son to die on the cross for us while we were still sinners.
On top of all of that, the bible reassures us that neither Death nor Life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Even as Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, he came down to earth with great compassionate love to everyone, whether saint or sinners and irregardless of our backgrounds. He healed and loved everyone. So likewise, as Children of God, we should love each other not just by speaking but by taking action whenever we can, to show love as action speaks louder than words. Sometimes, people just need a listening ear and an encouraging word from us. By doing that, we are showing love towards them. No matter how small our actions may be, it is still an act of love towards others.
I believe that if everyone makes an effort to show love, God would be pleased with us as we are obeying his word.
