4) remember that we all went on board Doulos for missions exposure?
Silva Amanda has some thoughts on it!

"11th of November 2006 was a special day, indeed. After all, it was quite rare to be able to visit Doulos, one might even call it a chance of a life time. As expected, we were quite excited to go on this Doulos trip. We had some expectations, a few of them is to see other people of different nationalities, see what activities were carried out onboard of the ship and to gain some things from this experience. Above all else, we wanted to go there with an open mind and heart to be able to receive God’s words.

Personally, when I saw Doulos my first thought was that it was quite big and surprisingly quite modern. It definitely did not fit with the image of the oldest ship in the world. It seemed that the weather was not in a jovial mood for rain started to fall. The rain did nothing to dampen our spirit. Once inside the boat, we were given a brief introduction about several of the Doulos staff. It is fascinating to note that there were over 350 people of over 50 nationalities in the boat.

The first lesson we learned was that 8 out of 10 missionaries were working within a predominantly Christian society. Therefore, we need more people to reach out to those who had not heard of Jesus. After a short presentation, they presented a skit for us. Although there was no dialogue, the skit was full of actions and easy to understand. It talked about how only Jesus can fulfill our lives. Yet another message we received was that God was love. To serve our God, we need to love God. However, to love God we need to let God to love us. Most important of all, when our lives were full of God, there will be no more room for sin. I thought that the messages were very meaningful and what each and everyone of them had said definitely touched our hearts. There was no doubt that they had, in their own way, changed our life. To some it may only be a small change, to others it may be a big change. One thing for sure, our lives had changed for the better.

Afterwards, we had some free time. I chose to go to the book fair. There was a wide variety of books, CDs, accessories and even some games! What I found interesting was their unique pricing system. The price tags showed units instead of currency. Every 100 units were equal to S$4 and every 5 units were equal to 25 cents. There was a coffee bar to purchase some snacks and beverages. The ice cream was delicious! It was a pity that I was not able to find out what happened during the guided tour. No matter, I felt that this trip was a memorable one and we certainly benefited from this trip.

5) thank you for praying for my sister Eunice :)
If you don't see me in the office, I'm either in TTC or home with her.
For those who don't know what she's having
- this is a quick summary~
Condition: Henoch Schonlein Purpura
What it means: Eunice's antibodies and white blood cells made a mistake! they think there's a virus when there isn't one or that they over-reacted and so as a result, damaged her small blood vessels.
What happens: Eunice has red sores which may develop into blisters and then turn purple. her blood vessels are inflammed and her feet and hands swell up. She now has difficulties in walking and has bad and painful muscle aches.
how long will it take? about 1 month
Medication: she's on steroids and painkillers

PRAYER POINTS: please pray that her kidneys will not be affected and that this will NOT return. Her slipped disc operation has been postponed indefinitely

Our God is awesome! loving you all, yahui :)
